This product is a highly effective, non-toxic and non-irritating anti-dandruff agent, which can be widely used in anti-dandruff shampoo, hair tonic and hair conditioner. The anti-dandruff and anti-pruritic mechanism of OCTO is to fundamentally block the external channels of dandruff by sterilization and anti-oxidation, so as to effectively cure dandruff and stop head itch, rather than temporarily eliminate dandruff from the appearance by degreasing and other ways. That's one reason OCTO's anti-dandruff and anti-pruritic performance is better than its peers.
OCTO is a white or light yellow crystalline powder. Its main properties related to cosmetics are as follows:
1) the solubility
OCTO is soluble in surfactant system, which is a significant advantage over similar anti-dandruff products such as ZPT. Soluble in ethanol (10%), soluble in aqueous solution containing surfactants or ethanol/water mixture (1%-10%), slightly soluble in water (0.05%).
2) Compound with cosmetic raw materials
OCTO can be combined with a variety of cationic surfactants (quaternary amine salts) and cationic active components, and this combination also increases its solubility. The combination property of OCTO is better than other anti-dandruff and anti-prurticant such as ZPT, MDS, CLM and so on.
3) the PH effects
OCTO is stable in the range of PH3--9. Under neutral condition, OCTO exists as free acid and Pka is 7.4
4) Thermal stability
OCTO has very good thermal stability.
5) Optical stability
Under direct ultraviolet light, the active components of OCTO decompose. Therefore, we should pay attention to avoid light storage.
6) Influence on viscosity
The addition of OCTO can increase the viscosity of many surfactant systems
